Alan Bowman Admits to Having Bulletin Board Material vs. Arkansas

Syndication: The Ames Tribune

The Oklahoma State Cowboys needed double-overtime to beat the Arkansas Razorbacks 39-31 in Stillwater on Saturday. It was one of the craziest games of the early college football season. And after the game, OSU quarterback Alan Bowman admitted to having bulletin board material for their Week 2 match up.

Backstory

Arkansas defensive back Marquise Robinson is a new player who transferred in from South Alabama, the team who shocked Oklahoma State 33-7 last year in Stillwater. So Robinson knows a thing or two about beating the Cowboys, and said during the week he thought Arkansas would “dominate” the Pokes.

During his press conference this week, Robinson praised his own defensive back room for listening to him when watching OSU game film, saying, “The one thing I like about the DB group here, everybody is listening. Everybody’s got their own characteristic. So they really stand out to me, for sure.”

He then went on to say, “I feel like when we go back this time, there’s gonna be a domination.”

Alan Bowman’s Response

Well, after Oklahoma State won the game on Saturday, Bowman was asked if he saw Robinson’s quote.

Bowman was brutally honest, saying, “Oh yeah. It was on the bulletin board. We watched it before every unit on the offense. We had it all scripted up. I can tell you word for word what he said, but he didn’t play today. We were kind of sad he didn’t because we were prepared for him. We were ready for him, but he didn’t play.”

The Cowboys trailed 21-7 at the half and couldn’t get anything going on offense, but the second half was all about the Pokes, as they outscored the Razorbacks 24-7 in the second half to force overtime and ultimately eke out the win.

Oklahoma State moves to 2-0 on the year with the win and will now move on to a matchup with Tulsa next week.
