On Saturday, Colorado wide receiver Travis Hunter showed up in a big way for a matchup against in-state rival Colorado State.
Hunter put on an incredible performance against the Rams, which led to the Georgia native posting a stat line that hasn’t been matched in 28 years.
Hunter posted 13 catches for 100 yards and two touchdowns while snagging an interception on the defensive side of the ball. Hunter became the first player to record the stat line since Kansas State’s Kevin Lockett accomplished the feat in 1996.
While Lockett did not play both ways at Kansas State during his career, his interception came on a special teams fake field goal that resulted in his first career interception.
Hunter, one of the nation’s top athletes, has had an incredible start to his career in 2024. The Georgia native has already brought in 30 grabs for 342 yards and five scores while posting 11 total tackles, two pass breakups, and one interception.
His performance helped the Buffaloes secure their second win of the non-conference schedule, 28-9. The team put up 419 yards of total offense with four scores and one interception.
Hunter and the Buffaloes kick off Big 12 play against Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears on Saturday, September 21st, at 7:00 p.m. CT.
