While Colorado Football is primarily viewed in the media through a negative lens, it’s pretty hard to discredit Shilo Sanders‘ sense of humor.
With moments like impersonating his father, trash talking his brothers Shedeur and Deion Jr., and a new moment on Tuesday, the Buffaloes safety continues to show off his personality in the spotlight.
When asked by his brother if he was playing this week, Shilo addressed the camera and jokingly replied, “Alright, y’all, since we play for clicks, if this video gets to two hundred thousand, I’ll play this weekend.”
Sanders is currently recovering from a fractured forearm suffered against the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Week 2. His father and coach, Deion Sanders, shared a photo from the hospital with Shilo after surgery.
âColorado coach Deion Sanders confirms safety Shilo Sanders underwent arm surgery Sunday,â ESPNâs Adam Rittenberg wrote. âSaid he woke up from surgery and said he was ready to play this week (he wonât, obviously). Shilo Sanders is expected to miss 2-3 weeks, per Deion Sanders, who notes his son is a very fast healer.â
Sanders’ “playing for clicks” comment stems from an offseason interview with former Colorado cornerback Cormani McClain, who left the program in search of a “real program.” In his viral YouTube video addressing his decision, McClain stated that he wants to play for a program that does not play for clicks.
Sanders is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with the injury and is expected to return to football in Week 5 against UCF or Week 6 vs. No. 13 Kansas State.
