Sonny Dykes and the TCU Horned Frogs made a big splash in the Class of 2025 on Monday with the addition of four-star quarterback Adam Schobel.

Schobel, a 6-foot-4 signal caller from Texas, chose the Horned Frogs over offers from seven different programs, including Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma State, and more.

Coming out of Columbus High School in the Class of 2025, Schobel is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 242nd-ranked player. He also checks in as the 18th-ranked quarterback in his class and the 34th-ranked player in the state of Texas.

To say Schbel is a TCU legacy would be an understatement at this point, as both his father and his uncle played college football in Ft. Worth before starting their NFL careers. His father, Matt Schobel, played at TCU from 1998-2001, while his uncle, Aaron Schobel, was a Horned Frog from 1997-2000. Schobel’s other tie to the university comes with his cousin, John Schobel, a 2025 edge rusher, who committed to TCU in May.

With his commitment, Schobel became TCU’s 22nd addition to the Class of 2025, joining four other four-star prospects and 18 different three-stars.

Schobel and the rest of the future class of Horned Frogs will have an opportunity to watch their future team take the field for the first time in 2024 on Friday, August 30th, against the Stanford Cardinal.
