Following Colorado’s tough loss to Nebraska on Saturday night, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum had some choice words regarding the future of Deion Sanders.
Finebaum mentioned his belief that Sanders will be on the move following the conclusion of Colorado’s 2024 season.
“I don’t think Deion Sanders will be there next year,” Finebaum said on the Matt Barrie Show. “This season, when they fail to go to a bowl game, he’s going to look around and try to find an exit strategy. No more Travis [Hunter], no more Shedeur [Sanders] — what’s the motivation for him to beat himself up? So, I think enjoy the Deion show. It will be playing somewhere next year. It may be off-Broadway. It may be on Broadway. But it won’t be in Boulder.”
Sanders and the Buffaloes dropped a heartbreaker in Week 2 after riding the momentum of a solid Week 1 win. The team was outmatched by Nebraska on the road and wound up losing 28-10. In the outing, Shedeur Sanders struggled to move the ball and followed his dominant Week 1 outing with a tough game vs. Nebraska.
With stars Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter likely departing for the NFL in 2025, many experts have outlined their thoughts regarding Deion leaving Colorado in the rear-view mirror.
Meantime, Sanders and the Buffaloes still have a tough task ahead of them in 2024. Colorado has a matchup set for Week 3 against their in-state rival, Colorado State, on Saturday, September 14th.
