On Monday, On3’s Joe Tipton provided an update on the recruitment of 2025 five-star forward Tounde Yessoufou and his decision to cancel select visits.
Yessoufou, a 6-foot-7 forward from Santa Maria, California, elected to cancel his upcoming visits to Kansas, Kentucky, and UConn and focus on Arizona State, Baylor, and USC.
Coming out of St Joseph High School in the Class of 2025, Yessoufou is listed as a five-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 15th-ranked player. He also checks in as the third-ranked player at his position and the third-ranked player in the state of California.
Prior to the Sun Devils jumping into the recruitment process, Yessoufou discussed his visit to Baylor, saying, “I like how they play freshmen. In the past, they have put three guards on the floor, which is unique. And they have been winning a lot of games. How much they win is very impressive. I feel like I can fit in with how they play. They are always reaching out to me before and after my games to tell me to just keep going. I really like them.”
Yessoufou completed his visit to Baylor on August 30th, USC on June 25th, and Arizona State on September 6th. Originally, the five-star prospect scheduled visits to UConn on September 20th, Kansas on October 4th, and Kentucky on October 11th.
