Revamped Arizona Squad Ready to Compete for Big 12 Hoops Title in 2024-25

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament West Regional-Arizona vs Clemson

The Arizona men’s basketball team will play in the Big 12 Conference in the 2024-25 season, so the Wildcats will be in the mix for the conference title along with Kansas, Houston, and Baylor.

Despite finishing the season with an impressive 27-9 record, the team’s season came to an early end in a loss to Clemson in the Sweet 16.

However, Arizona picked up several ranked victories throughout the season against No. 2 Duke, No. 21 Michigan State, and No. 23 Wisconsin.

Several key players will return for head coach Tommy Lloyd, including Caleb Love, Jaden Bradley, and KJ Lewis. After losing rotational pieces this offseason, Lloyd has been active in the transfer portal, bringing in Campbell transfer Anthony Dell’Orso (20.2 PPG), Oakland transfer Trey Townsend (17.3 PPG), and Tennessee transfer Tobe Awaka (5.1 PPG).

Guard Pelle Larsson led the team in assists per game last season with 3.7 before being selected No. 44 in the 2024 NBA Draft to the Miami Heat.

Love returns for his final season of college basketball after leading the team in scoring with 18 points per game.

The program also adds two top 100 players in the class of 2024, Carter Bryant (No. 19) and Emmanuel Stephen (No. 93).
