With ESPN’s College GameDay heading to the Big House for No. 10 Michigan’s matchup against No. 3 Texas, the group announced their plans and guest appearance schedule for the broadcast.
The broadcast included one Big 12 quarterback, who is expected to join the show for an on-field interview ahead of their Week 2 matchup vs. Tulane.
The signal caller set to join the show is none other than Kansas State’s Avery Johnson, who led the Wildcats to a Week 1 blowout win over UT Martin in his 2024 debut.
“Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian will join the show ahead of the Longhorns’ nonconference matchup, while Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson will talk with the GameDay crew live from his pregame warmups ahead of their game against Tulane,” the article states. “Michigan basketball coach Dusty May also joins during the Week 2 show in Ann Arbor.”
Johnson had a slow start to his second career as a quarterback, with the Wildcats posting just 13 points in their first six drives. Things then took a major turn in the second half with Johnson connecting with both DJ Giddens and Dylan Edwards, which helped open the floodgates for Kansas State. Johnson’s stat line of 14-21 for 153 yards and a touchdown to interception ratio of 2-1 helped the Wildcats take home a 41-6 win over the Skyhawks in Week 1.
Johnson and the Wildcats have a tougher matchup ahead in Week 2, listed as 8.5-point favorites against the Tulane Green Wave.
Kansas State vs. Tulane is set to kick off at 11:00 a.m. CT live from Yulman Stadium in New Orleans, Louisana, on ESPN.
