Is there anything better than watching your favorite football team take the field with an ice-cold beer in your hand? No.
That was until Bud Light added a new wrinkle to the fold with fans being able to watch their team take the field while drinking beer with their team represented on the can.
According to Bud Light’s announcement, five teams from the Big 12—Kansas State, Kansas, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech—are receiving custom cans. They join 21 other programs receiving cans, including Fresno State, Wyoming, Nevada, Missouri, East Carolina, Maryland, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, LSU, Arkansas, Iowa, Arkansas, and Kentucky.
In addition to the team cans, Bud Light announced a partnership with viral comedian Shane Gillis to spark the campaign among the right target audience. With Gillis’ football and comedy background, the partnership aims to bring together college football fans and beer drinkers even further.
“I like football and beer, especially Bud Light,” Gillis said in Bud Light’s “The Dean’s Office” content promo. “It was fun to work with McKeever and Steve on this.”
With college football less than one week away from kicking off the 2024 season, Bud Light, Gillis, and fans around the globe will all have something to smile about with a new rollout of cans perfect for die-hard fans.
