Colorado Buffaloes

Colorado Football is Having a Historically Bad Start to the Season

NCAA Football: Oregon State at Colorado

The Colorado Buffaloes are in the middle of one of the worst starts to a college football season in 65 years.

The Buffaloes join a list of five other Power 5 teams who have started a season off with 4 consecutive 25-point losses. The last team to join the list prior to Colorado was Indiana in the 1957 season.

This statistic comes from Brian Howell, a beat writer for Buffzone and The Boulder Daily Camera via Twitter, you can see his tweet below.

On the List are the 1893 Tennessee Volunteers, the 1921 UCLA Bruins, the 1932 Louisville Cardinals, the 1950 Virginia Tech Hokies, the 1957 Indiana Hoosiers, and now, the 2022 Colorado Buffaloes.

Out of the six teams listed, the best record at the end of their respective seasons was the 1893 Tennesee Volunteers, finishing their season off 2-5. The Buffaloes look to Week 5 in their matchup with the 2-2 Arizona Wildcats in hopes of getting their first win of the season, and hopes of avoiding lists like this for the rest of the season.

Needless to say, the move from the Big 12 to the Pac-12 hasn’t exactly worked out as most Colorado fans would have hoped.
