Why Did Shedeur Sanders Tell Travis Hunter ‘I Don’t Give a F***’?

NCAA Football: Colorado at Arizona State

While Travis Hunter made some of the best plays of anyone in Thursday’s win over the North Dakota State Bison, he got an earful from Shedeur Sanders during the game.

In a postgame interview with the Buffaloes’ star two-way player, Hunter mentioned that Sanders chewed him out for not catching the first pass thrown his way.

“It’s funny because he [Shedeur Sanders] got on me for not catching the one that was called a flag because I told him to throw me the ball no matter what,” Hunter said. “So he got mad at me, he was like, ‘I don’t care catch the ball.’ So that one, I just knew I had to catch the ball. I had no other choice and no other option. So whatever I had to do to get the ball, I was gonna get it.”

“Shut up, catch the first one,” Sanders told Hunter.

“He’s been grabbing me,” Hunter responded.

“I don’t give a f***, catch it,” Sanders concluded.

“Relax, guys,” one coach chimed in.

Hunter did just that, hauling in his third touchdown of the game. The Georgia native reminded members of the national media what makes him such a unique prospect competing both ways for the Buffs’ in their 31-26 win.

In the matchup, Hunter finished with three tackles on defense and seven grabs for 132 yards, and three scores on offense.

Colorado will take the field in Week Two against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on the road.
