In an interesting offseason piece from 247Sports’ Chris Hummer, 10 assistants, analysts, quality control coaches, GAs, and personnel staffers from the Big 12 Conference earned praise among the nation’s best.

The 30 under 30 list ranks 30 must-know coaches in the industry under the age of 30, a list that featured two members of the West Virginia Mountaineers staff.

The first Big 12 coach mentioned on Hummer’s list was West Virginia quarterback coach Tyler Allen.

“Neal Brown wasted no time promoting Allen from analyst to quarterback’s coach this offseason when Sean Reagan took the offensive coordinator job at Troy. Allen has worked with Brown on three separate occasions—twice with WVU and once with Troy—and has garnered a lot of respect around the Mountaineers program. This is Allen’s second on-field stint after serving as Jacksonville State’s quarterback coach from 2020 to 2022. While with the Jaguars, he helped quarterback Zion Webb to first-team all-conference honors.”

Following Allen on staff is West Virginia tight end coach Blaine Stewart, who Hummer spoke about, saying, “Stewart had an excellent debut with the Mountaineers last season. Tight end Kole Taylor earned second-team all-Big 12 honors and led WVU in receptions. Taylor also helped land the No. 1 JUCO tight end in the country in Gregory Genross. Stewart, the son of former West Virginia head coach Bill Stewart, came to West Virginia from the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he worked from 2018-22 in a variety of roles, including working with wide receivers, the defensive scout team, offensive quality control, and personnel.”

In addition to the pair of WVU assistants, two league members, West Virginia’s Jevaughn Codlin and Texas Tech’s Ryan Conry, earned spots on Hummer’s list of Analysts, Quality Control, and GAs To Know portion.

Lastly, Hummer mentioned six personnel staffers, including Kansas State’s Maddi Gage, Cincinnati’s Jack Griffith, Texas Tech’s Sean Kenney, Colorado’s Tyler Johnson, TCU’s Raj Murti, and Arizona State’s Isaiah Williams.
