Former WVU Guard Josiah Davis Commits to Tennessee Tech

Former West Virginia guard Josiah Davis has officially found a new home for his future in college basketball and that’s at Tennessee Tech under head coach John Pelphrey.

Davis didn’t see the court much as a freshman in Morgantown and following a disappointing first season and an offseason reload of some of the best guards in the transfer portal, Davis decided to test the waters and ended up in Cookeville.

In his lone year with the Mountaineers, Davis averaged 0.8 PPG, 0.3 RPG, and 0.2 APG on 33% shooting from the field. Davis totaled five points on the season which came in the same game against Pennsylvania back on November 18th.

West Virginia has stocked up on players through the transfer portal and has been graded by many as the most improved team of the 2023 offseason with the addition of Arizona guard Kerr Kriisa, Manhattan duo Omar Silverio and Jose Perez, and Syracuse center Jesse Edwards, however, the loss of Josiah Davis is still a bummer.

Davis transfers with multiple years of eligibility ahead and with the decision to join the Golden Eagles should get a fresh start to his college career.
