The Iowa State women’s basketball team will take on the defending National Champion South Carolina Gamecocks in the 2024 Elevance Health Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off on Thursday, Nov. 28, the program announced via X.

After the matchup with the Gamecocks, Iowa State will face off against Middle Tennessee on Saturday, Nov. 30.

This marks just the second time ever that these schools will play against each other with the first matchup dating back to Feb. 6, 2020 when the Gamecocks won 83-65.

Several key players from last year’s tournament team return for the Cyclones including Audi Crooks (19.2 PPG), Addy Brown (13 PPG), and Emily Ryan (11.6 PPG).

Not only did the team make a run to the Big 12 championship game, but Iowa State picked up statement wins over No. 4 Baylor and No. 7 Kansas State.

The Cyclones finished 2023-24 with an overall record of 21-12, placing fourth in the Big 12 and the squad’s season came to an end in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in a loss to Stanford.

It was also announced on June 2 that Iowa State will take on the University of Connecticut on Dec. 17 in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase in Montville, Connecticut.
