The Iowa State women’s basketball team is scheduled to take on the Connecticut Huskies on Dec. 17 in the 11th edition of the Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase in Montville, Connecticut.

Freshman center Audi Crooks became a household name in the college basketball world with averages of 19.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game last season.

Crooks led the team to a 21-12 record in 2023-24, as the Cyclones made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to Stanford. ISU also made it to the Big 12 championship game in a loss to Texas.

Iowa State pulled off two top 10 victories last season including wins over No. 4 Baylor, as well as No. 7 Kansas State.

The Huskies were led by star point guard Paige Bueckers, who led the team to the Final Four before suffering a two-point loss to Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes. The 6-foot guard finished 12th in the country in scoring with 21.9 points per game.

This matchup will be the fourth time ever these teams have faced off, with UCONN leading the all-time series 2-1. The last game was played in 2010, when the Huskies took down the Cyclones 74-36.
