Oklahoma State Announces Official Sellout for Arkansas Game

Oklahoma State's Nickolas Martin (4) celebrates an interception in the fourth quarter of the college football game between the Oklahoma State University Cowboys and the Kansas State Wildcats at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater. Okla., Friday, Oct. 6, 2023. OSU won 29-21.

Oklahoma State fans are incredibly excited about the start of the 2024 season, and why shouldn’t they be? Ollie Gordon leads a list of 19 returning starters from a team that won 10 games last season and should be the biggest non-quarterback name in the Heisman race this fall.

The passing game, led by super-senior transfer Alan Bowman, should take another step this year with his top targets back, while the defense under Bryan Nardo should progress as well heading into his second year on the job.

While the season opener against South Dakota State is drawing plenty of attention, and rightfully so, the nonconference game that seems to be getting a ton of attention is the matchup against an SEC foe in Week 2.

On September 7, Mike Gundy and the Pokes will play host to Sam Pittman and the Arkansas Razorbacks, and on Thursday evening, the Cowboys announced that there won’t be an open seat in the house.

Boone Pickens Stadium will be rocking when the Hogs come to Stillwater, and unlike their hosts, will do so with a new signal-caller under center.

KJ Jefferson, Arkansas’ all-time leader in passing yards and touchdowns, transferred to UCF this past offseason leaving Pittman and company to look elsewhere for a quarterback. However, many feel that the addition of Taylen Green (Boise State) might make the offense even more potent.

With 17 starters returning from last season, Arkansas should have plenty of confidence coming into this game. A matchup between two experienced teams with something to prove makes this one of the best non-con games of the entire season.
