Best Social Media Videos During for West Virginia vs. Penn State Weather Delay

NCAA Football: Oklahoma State at West Virginia

A weather delay has put a hold to the West Virginia vs. Penn State game in Morgantown. Penn State is leading West Virginia 20-6 at halftime, but a multi-hour delay due to thunder and lighting in the Morgantown area has resulted in both teams, fans and TV partners having to adjust.

It’s even resulted in FOX Sports anchor Rob Stone losing his notes on the set in Morgantown.

Update (4:20 EST): The game between the Mountaineers and Nittany Lions will begin at 4:25 EST.

Update (3:50 EST): A new lightning strike means the 30-minute clock has re-started.

Update (3:35 EST): Pending no more lighting strikes, the stadium will re-open at 3:50pm EST and play will begin at 4:05pm EST.

Then, there’s this video of thousands of WVU fans stuck underneath the stadium during the weather delay. This one will make those with claustrophobia cringe.

Here’s a look at the strong of the storms blowing through Morgantown. Clearly a dangerous situation that required the lengthy delay.

When these two teams get back on the field, we will see what kind of crowd returns for the Mountaineers, given the length of the delay, along with the fact that the Mountaineers find themselves down two scores.

West Virginia entered the game as 7.5-point favorites, but have been unable to get the offense going against Penn State’s defense. Also, WVU running back Jahiem White left the game with an injury that leaves his return in doubt for the Mountaineers.
