The plan all along was to rest Sammie Coates and his dinged-up knee against San Jose State, only to unleash him on Kansas State this coming Thursday.
Coates hasn’t gotten many chances to make an impact so far this season.
Make no mistake, though, the return of the Tigers’ bona fide deep threat will play a key role against Kansas State this Thursday night.
“Sammie is one of our big weapons. … We expect him to be back and ready to go,” Malzahn said. “We chose to hold him out of the last game to get him healthy for this one.”
