ISU defense sees improvement after player’s only meeting

After giving up 34 unanswered points to North Dakota State, the Iowa State defense had to take a step back and assess where they were at as a unit.

Enter in Jevohn Miller.

The senior linebacker called a player’s only meeting a day before facing No. 20 Kansas State. In ways, the gathering produced the desired result. The ISU defense performed better in a 32-28 loss on Saturday.

“Huge improvement,” Miller said. “We had a player meeting last night and I talked to them about how we didn’t have a lot of energy last week and we weren’t playing together, winning our one on one battles and how we need to come out with more fire and have more fun playing the game of football and we did that this weekend. We played as a unit. We will finish games. We have to finish the games.”
