Baylor Bears

Bears stampede Buffalo behind Petty’s 4 TDs, 63-21

Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty couldn’t have looked more fresh and alert if he had taken a pregame swim at Niagara Falls.

After sitting out last week with a back injury, Petty made Buffalo’s heads spin by hitting his first nine passes.

When his night was through in the third quarter, Petty had thrown for 416 yards and four touchdowns to lead the No. 8 Bears to a 63-21 thrashing of the Bulls before 24,714 fans Friday at UB Stadium.

Following a 45-0 win over SMU and a 70-6 win over Northwestern State at McLane Stadium, the Bears played as if they never left home in their first road game. They dominated the Bulls (1-2) from the opening kickoff as they built a 35-0 halftime lead in their final tuneup before opening Big 12 play at Iowa State on Sept. 27.
