I thought in the SEC, “It just means more”?
Well, apparently the Oklahoma football student section didn’t get the memo.
Pictures started going viral of the OU student section during the Sooners’ game against Tulane during Week 3 of the college football season.
It showed a student section that had mostly emptied out, despite the game being far from a done deal.
Here are some of the photos that began circulating on social media.
This is absolutely embarrassing.
Oklahoma bills itself as one of the premier college football programs in America, and its students can’t hang around for a game vs. Tulane, which was, at one point, a one-score game in the fourth quarter?
The two answers here are either a lackadaisical attitude from OU students or just arrogance, assuming they’ll finish off the win (which they did, 34-19).
But this is also a fan base that spent a lot of time in their Big 12 days complaining about their schedule not having enough “good games”. Tulane is as good of a non-conference, non-Power 4 game as you’re going to schedule. And in a one-score game the students are gone?
Weak.
OU hosts Tennessee next week, so hopefully the fans will hang around for that one. The team will need ’em.
