Jordan Harrison Joins Mark Kellogg at West Virginia

A second player has followed Mark Kellogg from Stephen F. Austin to West Virginia. Point guard Jordan Harrison has signed with the Mountaineers, the head coach announced Thursday afternoon.

“Jordan is a tremendous point guard and one of the hardest workers I’ve had the privilege to coach,” Kellogg said. “She had a fantastic season as a freshman and I’m excited to watch her compete in a WVU uniform.

“Jordan is a true point guard that can facilitate and score at all three levels. Defensively, Jordan can get after it and guard the ball and will also step over and take a charge. Jordan excels in the classroom and on the court and will represent WVU with pride.”

Out of Oklahoma City, Okla., Harrison started all 34 games as a freshman this past season at Stephen F. Austin. In so doing, she averaged 12.1 points, 5.0 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 2.1 steals while logging 29.3 minutes per game.

That included a season-high 28 points against Texas State in the first round of the WNIT. Before that, she notched a season-high 12 assists and eight boards against Utah Tech during Western Athletic Conference play.

With all her production, she earned WAC Freshman of the Year and also was named to the league’s second team.

Prior to her first collegiate season, Harrison starred at Classen SAS High School in OKC, averaging 11.6 points, 4.0 assists, 3.2 steals and 3.0 rebounds per contest. During her senior season, she broke the Oklahoma single-game scoring record with 74 points, knocking down an incredible 14 3-pointers.
