Three-Star DL Elijah Kinsler Commits to West Virginia Football
The West Virginia Mountaineers have beefed up their defense line for the 2024 recruiting cycle by adding three-star recruit Elijah Kinsler.
Kinsler is 6’3”, 260 pounds and hails from Oradell, New Jersey, where he plays for Bergen Catholic. He’s a Top 25 player in the Garden State and ranks as the 110th defensive lineman, according to 247Sports. Kinsler picked WVU over offers from Miami, Louisville, Pittsburgh and several others.
Here’s what Kinsler shared on social media on Sunday.
He is coming off a season here he rolled up 47 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks during his junior season. Overall, Kinsler is the sixth commitment for West Virginia in the 2024 class and is the the third along the defensive line.
Head coach Neal Brown enters the 2023 season on the hot seat as WVU has been mired in mediocrity in recent years, with Brown finishing under .500 in three of his four seasons, while never finishing higher than 6th place in the Big 12.
But with the addition of Kinsler, WVU’s recruiting class is ranked 48th in the country and sixth in the Big 12, trialing Texas Tech, Iowa State, Oklahoma, K-State and Oklahoma State.
