The Baylor Bears added a top quarterback in the class of 2025 with the commitment of four-star quarterback Adam Schobel.

Schobel turned down offers from Oklahoma State, Houston, Sam Houston State, Texas State, and UTSA in his decision to commit to Baylor, joining head coach Dave Aranda in hopes of finding their way back to a Big 12 championship.

Schobel is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and currently ranks as the 321st overall prospect in the country. He also checks in as the 23rd-ranked quarterback in the country, and the 48th-ranked player in the state of Texas.

The Texas native started his high school career at Columbus High by winning the Texas District 12-3A-I Newcomer of the Year award as a freshman. In his freshman year, he threw for 2,440 yards and 28 touchdowns, completing 68% of his throws. He followed his freshman year up by throwing for more than 2,800 yards as a sophomore and totaled a touchdown to interception ratio of 36-4.

While the 2025 season is still far away, the young quarterback is a great pickup for the future of Dave Aranda’s squad. The 6-foot-5 prospect elects to remain local in his home state and help establish the future of the Baylor Bears.
