Baylor offensive lineman Ishmael Wilson, a transfer from Texas A&M, has received a waiver from the NCAA to play immediately this season.
After redshirting at Texas A&M last year, Wilson transferred to Baylor this summer to get closer to his mother. NCAA rules usually require transfers to sit out a season, but he was granted the waiver since his mother is dealing with kidney issues in Dallas.
The 6-4, 295-pound Wilson has four years of eligibility remaining for the Bears. However, he will likely have to work his way up the depth chart to see playing time this fall since he isn’t listed on the first or second team.
