Class of 2024 offensive lineman Ka’Marii Landers committed to the Baylor Bears and will join the team immediately, per Matt Zenitz.
The lineman chose BU over Arkansas, Marshall, South Carolina, Coastal Carolina, and Houston.
He is eligible to play two more seasons after previously playing for Copiah-Lincoln Community College located in Michigan.
247Sports ranks the 6-foot-5 lineman as a three-star prospect and the No. 98 JUCO player in the nation.
Landers spoke about his relationship with the Bears with 247Sports and mentioned that it was the, “best fit honestly. The chance to play if I’m on top of my game and honestly, DeQuan Finn is the quarterback from the same city. That would be cool to put on for the city with him.”
However, Baylor struggled last season, finishing 3-9 under head coach Dave Aranda. This was the lowest amount of wins for the program since 2020.
With former QB Blake Shapen leaving for Mississippi State, Aranda brought in Finn after a successful run at Toledo. Shapen threw for just 13 touchdowns for the team in 2023.
The Bears will look to turn things around in 2024, starting in their season opener against Tarleton State on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. EST.
