On Wednesday, FOX Sports announced that the clash between Kansas State and Arizona will be the first matchup of the new FOX college football television package.

The game will kick off at 8 p.m. EST on Friday, Sep. 13 on FOX as K-State will be hosting Arizona for its first Friday home-game since 2013.

Kansas State finished the 2023 season fifth in the Big 12 with a 9-4 record, whereas Arizona placed third in the Pac-12 at 10-3 before officially transitioning to the Big 12 Conference.

Arizona will travel to Manhattan for its first road game of the season. The Wildcats finished last season at No. 11 in the final AP Top 25 Poll and capped off their season with an Alamo Bowl victory against No. 12 Oklahoma.

Kansas State ended its season ranked at No. 18 due to a bowl game victory over the NC State Wolfpack, who came in at No. 21 in the final rankings.

The non-conference matchup marks the first time these two programs have been set to compete against each other since 1978. This is also the eighth all-time matchup between the two.

With Arizona and Kansas State finishing strong in 2023, this will undoubtedly be one of the most anticipated matchups early in 2024 and could very well represent one, or both, of the teams that we will see in Arlington competing for a Big 12 Championship later in the year.
