Expected UCF Walk-On Agiye Hall Arrested for Having 40 Pounds of Marijuana

Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Christopher Smith (29) chases after Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Agiye Hall (84) on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, during the College Football Playoff National Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

In one of the most bizarre turns of events this offseason, it appears that UCF won’t be gaining the services of former five-star WR Agiye Hall.

According to AL.com, Hall pled no contest to a drug trafficking charge back in June after he was arrested in an Orlando airport. As it turns out, Hall was detained on December 4, 2023, after officers discovered approximately 40.3 pounds of marijuana in 31 vacuum-sealed bags in his luggage, according to a court affidavit.

Hall’s trafficking charge carried a minimum sentence of three years – with a maximum sentence of 30 years – but was given 18 months of supervised probation.

The report also added that Hall’s bail was originally set at $500,000 but it was reduced after his attorney filed a motion to do so, citing mental health as a factor. Hall was officially diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Hall was expected to transfer to UCF ahead of the 2024 season, but that is no longer the plan after he didn’t report to UCF this week, according to a report from 247Sports’ Stephen Leonard.

A member of the 2021 recruiting class, Hall ranked as the nation’s No. 11 overall player and No. 1 wide receiver coming out of high school, according to On3. After originally signing with Alabama, Hall transferred to Texas this past offseason but wasn’t able to see the field after he was suspended following an arrest tied to criminal mischief after he damaged a parking boot on his car.

Hall spent the 2021 season with Alabama, recording four receptions for 72 yards, and transferred to Texas ahead of 2022. There, he recording a single reception for seven yards and missed the entire 2023 season after his suspension.
