With the 2024 Big 12 Football Season less than one week away, college football experts across the country have started to make their picks for who will come out on top of notable title races.
On Friday, the Late Kick’s Josh Pate staked his claim with the Oklahoma State Cowboys winning the league in a title match against the Iowa State Cyclones.
“So here’s where I’m going in the Big 12,” Pate said. “I am keeping the matchup that I had. I’ve got Iowa State vs. Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship Game, and I am taking Oklahoma State to win that. If Oklahoma State’s there, then they will have perfected the style of play implemented in practice, and if they’ve perfected that, then they’re as good a matchup as any for Iowa State, and I think they beat Iowa State.”
In addition to the Cowboys and Cyclones, Pate discussed Utah figuring it out, steamrolling to the Big 12 Championship, and fear of looking past Avery Johnson at Kansas State. He also highlighted wildcard teams like UCF, Kansas, Arizona, and West Virginia as teams that will play a major factor in the hunt for Arlington.
With the Big 12 Conference being as unpredictable as any league in college football, Pate selected teams with the third and fifth-best odds to win the title. The full list of odds to win the 2024 Big 12 Championship is headlined by Utah, followed by Kansas State, Oklahoma State, UCF, Iowa State, Kansas, Arizona, West Virginia, and more.
With the countdown continuing to roll on in the Big 12 Conference, Pate is just one week away from seeing how his predictions look in person.
