Look: Five-Star Basketball Prospect at Arizona State vs. Wyoming Football Game

NCAA Football: Arizona State at Arizona

Football games have long been part of recruiting visits for basketball prospects, and that was the case in Tempe on Saturday night for Week 1 of the college football season.

Five-star local basketball prospect Koa Peat was at Arizona State for the Sun Devils’ season opener against Wyoming.

Peat is considered a Top 5 prospect in the Class of 2025 and has set official visit dates with Arizona State, Arkansas, Duke, Baylor, and Arizona. While the list features multiple Big 12 schools, the two programs most mentioned regarding Peat’s landing spot are Duke and Arizona.

Peat attends Perry High School in Gilbert, Arizona. Arizona State was the first to offer Peat a scholarship back in eighth grade. Peat is the youngest of seven children born to Todd Peat, who played in the NFL for the St. Louis/Phoenix Cardinals and Los Angeles Raiders, and Jana Peat.

For what it’s worth, On3 has predicted that Duke would land Peat with 30% confidence but that the Arizona Wildcats would be listed as the biggest threat.

Arizona State football opens its season vs. Wyoming on Saturday night in Tempe. The Sun Devils are entering their first season in the Big 12 Conference, joining the league alongside Arizona, Colorado and Utah.
