PFF Lists Utah’s Brant Kuithe as Top Returning Tight End

NCAA Football: Rose Bowl-Utah at Ohio State

With the college football season less than two months away, PFF released its top returning players at each position in 2024.

At the tight end position, Utah’s Brant Kuithe came in at No. 3 after missing last season with an injury, so the last time the 6-foot-2 offensive threat took the field was in 2022. That season, he totaled 206 receiving yards and three touchdowns before it was cut short.

Expectations are very high for Kuithe after Athlon named him as a Preseason All-American with second-team honors.

His last full season was in 2021, where he hauled in 611 yards and six touchdowns. That season, his best game came in a win over No. 3 Oregon, as he finished with five catches for 118 yards.

During his sophomore campaign in 2019, the star tight end ranked second in yards per reception among all FBS players at his position with 17.71 yards.

Now that he is expected to be ready for the start of the 2024 season, Kuithe is looking to have a big role in Kyle Whittingham’s offense that will be led by quarterback Cam Rising who also missed last season due to injury.

Even though the Utes’ dealt with injuries to several key players, the program still managed to finish 8-5 last season and earned a bowl game appearance before losing to Northwestern.
