Joe Lunardi’s Latest Bracketology Keeps Kansas as Top Overall Seed

Despite the Jayhawks loss in the Big 12 Championship game to the Texas Longhorns, the Jayhawks have been one of the best teams in the country this season and in Joe Lunardi’s latest bracketology update, they’ve retained the top seed.

Lunardi has been vocal about the Jayhawks this season with another successful Bill Self campaign and feel that regardless of the loss to the Longhorns, the Jayhawks are still the best team in the country. Led by the Big 12 Player of the Year Jalen Wilson, Kansas should be viewed as a top contender with a legitimate shot to repeat as champions.

In other news from the Bracketology update, Lunardi has the Oklahoma State Cowboys listed as the first team out of the big dance following a loss of their own to the Longhorns. Following a 61-47 defeat to the second-seeded Texas Longhorns in the Big 12 quarterfinals, the Cowboy faithful have been in some bubble trouble at the conclusion of their season.

In the event that Oklahoma State can find their way into the tournament, they would join Kansas, Texas, Baylor, Kansas State, Iowa State, TCU, and West Virginia as the eighth bid from the Big 12 Conference.

Lunardi’s latest Bracketology has four Big 12 teams, Kansas, Baylor, Texas and Kansas State, with Top 4 seeds in various Regions.

Selection Sunday takes place on Sunday, March 12 at 5:00 p.m. CST.
