Four-Star Texas Commit Cam Scott Granted NLI Release

Rodney Terry and the Texas Longhorns are losing one of their commits in the Class of 2024, with four-star guard Cam Scott being granted release from his letter of intent.
With his release, Scott becomes the top available prospect in the Class of 2024 and will be a major pickup for whoever lands him.
Coming out of Lexington High School in the Class of 2024, Scott is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 34th-ranked prospect. He also checks in as the fifth-ranked player at his position and the top-ranked player in the state of South Carolina.
Scott elected to choose the Longhorns over offers from 18 different programs, including Kansas, Auburn, Clemson, Miami, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas Tech, and more.
With the loss of Cam Scott, the Longhorns Class of 2024 now features two incoming freshmen. Texas earned commitments from two impressive prospects, including five-star shooting guard Tre Johnson and four-star power forward Nicolas Codie.
While Johnson and Codie are both incredible prospects at Texas, the loss of Cam Scott is a big one for Rodney Terry’s group. Still, with this offseason shaping up to include one of the busiest portal cycles in college basketball history, Terry should have some options available for replacement.
