Former Oklahoma State Forward Brandon Garrison to Visit Oklahoma
Former Oklahoma State forward Brandon Garrison is taking his first steps toward becoming a traitor in the eyes of his former team’s fanbase.
Garrison lined up a visit for Saturday, April 13th, to check out the Oklahoma Sooners’ basketball program in Norman.
According to ESPN, Garrison was ranked the No. 42 player and No. 5 center in the class and is the first 2023 McDonald’s All-American to enter the portal this cycle.
Garrison was a major part of Mike Boynton’s squad in 2023-24, but after the team elected to move on from Boynton after seven seasons, Garrison decided to enter his name into the portal and search for greener pastures.
In his freshman season, Garrison averaged 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game while connecting on 57.2% of his shots from the field. His biggest game of the season came against West Virginia on January 27th, when he recorded 20 points, five rebounds, four assists, and four steals en route to a 70-66 win.
Coming out of High School in the Class of 2023, Garrison was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 36th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the fifth-ranked player at his position and the top-ranked player in Oklahoma.
With multiple members of Oklahoma State’s starting lineup electing to transfer, Steve Lutz has his work cut out for him. Still, with this offseason shaping up to include one of the busiest portal cycles in college basketball history, Lutz should have some options available for replacement.
