Houston Basketball Adds Oklahoma Transfer Milos Uzan
Kelvin Sampson and the Houston Cougars have a new point guard in town with the addition of Oklahoma’s Milos Uzan through the transfer portal.
Uzan finished off his campus visit on Saturday by announcing his decision to commit to the Cougars and join the team in their pursuit of repeating as Big 12 champs in 2024-25.
Uzan is a huge pickup for Houston as the Cougars are set to return four of their five starters from 2023-24. The lone departure from the lineup is Big 12 Player of the Year, and All-American guard Jamal Shead, who is electing to forgo his final season of eligibility to enter the 2024 NBA Draft.
Uzan, a former member of the Big 12 All-Freshman team, was a key player for Porter Moser’s group last season, averaging 9.0 points, 4.4 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game. His biggest game of the season came against Providence in the Jumpman Invitational on December 5th, where he posted 17 points, 12 rebounds, and four steals.
Coming out of Dream City Christian High School in the Class of 2022, Uzan was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 66th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the 11th-ranked player at his position and the fifth-ranked player in the state of Arizona.
With one major offseason addition wrapped up for Kelvin Sampson’s squad, the Cougars should have another tough squad to take down in 2024-25.
