Kickoff Time Announced for TCU 2024 Season Opener at Stanford
TCU will start its 2024 football season in sunny California, traveling to Stanford for a Friday night showdown with one of the ACC’s newest members.
On Tuesday, the Horned Frogs and Cardinals learned that their matchup on August 30 will kick off at 9:30 p.m. CT, with coverage provided on ESPN.
It will be the first time that TCU has played an opponent from the ACC since 2009, predating the Frogs’ time in the Big 12. That year, TCU beat Virginia 30-14 before taking on Clemson in Death Valley two weeks later and also winning that contest, 14-10.
The Horned Frogs and Cardinal have met a total of three times, with TCU winning all three previous meetings. Their most recent meeting, in the 2017 Alamo Bowl, saw TCU erase a 21-3 deficit to win 39-37.
The last time TCU played at Stanford came all the way back in 2007, when a guy by the name of Andy Dalton was playing quarterback for the Frogs. In that game, Dalton threw for just shy of 350 yards with two touchdowns, leading TCU to a 38-36 comeback victory.
TCU is set to host Stanford for a return game at Amon G. Carter Stadium in 2027.
