Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders voiced his disdain for members of the media interviewing former Colorado players in an attempt to shade the program.

Sanders tweeted on Thursday night, “Y’all just interview anyone who leaves Colorado just to get a negative look on the program.”

The update from the Colorado signal caller comes just three weeks after Sanders and his father, head coach Deion Sanders, got into a spat on social media with TheAthletic and former Buffalo safety Xavier Smith.

Smith called out the program and Deion Sanders’ approach to managing the transfer portal, which Smith said had been leading to the “Destruction of guys’ confidence and belief in themselves.”

“I was actually getting mad like tears coming to my eyes,” Smith said. “Because, bro, you never even tried to get to know me. He was destroying guys’ confidence and belief in themselves. The way he did it, it could’ve been done with a little more compassion.”

Sanders then stood up for his dad and called out his former teammate, mentioning, “I don’t even remember him, tbh. Bro had to be very mid at best.”

To Sanders’ credit, the Buffaloes have been ridiculed this offseason by multiple members of the media. However, the program hasn’t exactly been the model of innocence either. Regardless, Coach Prime and the Buffaloes will kick off the 2024 season on Thursday, August 29th, against the North Dakota State Bison.
