Arizona Lands Ole Miss Transfer RB Kedrick Reescano

After starting running back Jonah Coleman followed Jedd Fisch to Washington this offseason, it appeared that Arizona might have space to add some help at the running back position heading into 2024.

While the addition of Quali Conley from San Jose State helped offset the loss, new head coach Brent Brennan opted to keep looking for pieces that might help and appears to have found one on Wednesday.

Former four-star running back and Ole Miss transfer Kedrick Reescano committed to the Wildcats this week and brings a covetable skillset to the UA backfield.

Listed as the No. 7 RB in the 2023 class, per On3, Reescano has prototypical size for this era of running backs. Listed at 5-foot-10, 190 pounds, Reescano has a projectable frame and exhibits burst and strength that make his stand out.

In fact, On3 went as far as to compare him to former Michigan State RB Kenneth Walker III, who now plays for the Seattle Seahawks, in their evaluation of him out of high school.

Reescano’s build, burst and outstanding contact balance remind us of Kenneth Walker III,” the evaluation reads. “Both have compact builds, explosive athleticism and the ability to bounce off of tackles at a high rate.

This is a big-time addition for the Arizona offense, who already boasts arguably the most exciting quarterback-wide receiver duo in the Big 12 with Noah Fifita and Tetairoa McMillan.

The Wildcats open up their 2024 season at home against New Mexico State on August 31.
