Baylor Forward Caleb Lohner Enters Transfer Portal: Report
Baylor forward Caleb Lohner has entered the transfer portal, per a report from On3.com, which would allow the backup to shop for a new home in 2024-25.
On3 also reported that Lohner put a “do not contact” on his entry, meaning that he does not what schools to contact him while he’s considering his options. He has one year of eligibility remaining. Due to the suspension of NCAA transfer rules, he is eligible to play immediately.
The 6-foot-8 forward transferred to Baylor two seasons ago from BYU, which at the time was not a member of the Big 12 Conference. Lohner settled into a role as a rotational forward.
With Baylor last season he averaged just 2.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in 9.2 minutes per game, which were the lowest totals of his career. In 2022-23, his first season with Baylor, he averaged 3.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per game.
He spent his first two years of college with the Cougars where he averaged at least seven points and six rebounds in each of his two seasons with the team.
While he’s from Flower Mount, Texas, the former Top 200 recruit spent his final two prep season at Wasatch Academy in Utah.
Earlier on Wednesday, freshman center Yves Missi announced that he would forego his remaining three years of eligibility and declare for the 2024 NBA Draft.
Baylor head coach Scott Drew is widely considered a candidate for the Kentucky job after John Calipari officially took the job at Arkansas.
