Iowa State Lands Charlotte Transfer Center Dishon Jackson
While T.J. Otzelberger and the Iowa State Cyclones are focused on Thursday’s Sweet 16 matchup against Illinois, they are also keeping their eyes on the team’s future.
The Cyclones added some much-needed depth on the low block with the addition of Charlotte center Dishon Jackson through the transfer portal.
The 6-foot-11 sophomore center is coming off an impressive season with the 49ers, where he averaged 11.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game on 54.4% shooting from the field. His biggest game of the season came against UAB on January 23rd, where he put up a season-high 21 points with four rebounds, two assists, and one block.
Coming out of St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School in the Class of 2020, Jackson was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 207th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the 27th-ranked center in his class and the 19th-ranked player in the state of California.
Jackson will have an opportunity to watch his future team play in the Sweet 16 on Thursday, March 28th, against the three-seed Illinois Fighting Illini. Tip-off for the game is set for 9:09 p.m. CT on YouTube TV.
