Kansas Women’s Basketball Continues To Make Noise In Transfer Portal

NCAA Basketball: West Virginia at Kansas

UC-Riverside transfer Jordan Webster has committed to the Kansas Jayhawks for the 2024-25 season with one year of eligibility remaining.

During her senior campaign, Webster led the Big West in scoring at 17.1 points, while also grabbing 5.4 rebounds. She helped the Highlanders clinch a birth in the 2024 Women’s National Invitation Tournament.

While there is no secret that she can score the ball at a high level, Webster is most notably recognized for her abilities on the defensive end of the floor, as she tallied 2.5 steals per game last season.

With the Jayhawks’ second leading scorer Taiyanna Jackson leaving for the WNBA and several other key players leaving this offseason, Webster will have a chance to compete for a starting spot heading into the season.

Jackson was selected No. 20 overall to the Connecticut Sun in the 2024 WNBA Draft after averaging a double double with 12.6 points and 10 rebounds in her final collegiate season.

Head Coach Brandon Schneider also brought in NDSU transfer guard Elle Evans who averaged 15.7 points while shooting an efficient 45.7% from three last year.

Kansas defeated Michigan in the Round of 64 during the 2024 National Tournament before falling to the USC Trojans. The squad finished the season with a record 20-13, placing seventh in the Big 12.
