Former Iowa State Star Tyrese Haliburton Makes All-NBA Team

NCAA Basketball: Battle 4 Atlantis-Iowa State vs Seton Hall

Tyrese Haliburton became a household name in college basketball during his sophomore season with Iowa State. The Second Team All-Big 12 Player was drafted No. 12 overall in the 2020 NBA Draft to the Sacramento Kings, before being traded to the Indiana Pacers two seasons later.

During his sophomore campaign, Haliburton showcased his all around game with averages of 15.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per contest. He was very consistent from the floor, shooting 50.4% from the field, 41.9% from three, and 82.2% from the foul-line.

It did not take long for his game to translate to the NBA, and just in his fifth season, the Pacers star was named to the All-NBA Third Team for the 2023-24 season.

He helped the Pacers make the playoffs as the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference, and the team has reached the Conference Finals for the first time since 2019.

The two-time NBA All Star led the league in assists per game at 10.9, while also finishing with a scoring average of 20.9.

During his career with the Cyclones, Haliburton posted the sixth triple-double in school history against TCU, when he finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.

The 6-foot-5 guard has a bright future in the league and has made the Indiana Pacers one of the most entertaining teams to watch in basketball.
