If there’s one thing that is divisive among college football fan bases, it’s got to be the opinions of the new alternate uniforms we are seeing around the country.
We’ve seen several programs around the Big 12 unveil new uniforms this offseason, with TCU’s getting trashed on social media and West Virginia and Baylor’s being met with mixed reviews. Iowa State unveiled its updated look in May, and Cyclones fans seemed to love it for the most part.
However, after getting a look at their traditional colors and the black alternate that we’ve seen often during Matt Campbell’s tenure, most folks assumed that was end of it.
On Thursday afternoon, we learned that there was more to the puzzle in Ames, and now we have a look at the Cyclones’ fresh new look: an all-white alternate that pairs wonderfully with the classic black alterante.
Take a look for yourself.
As with almost any uniform for any team, there were some fans who were disappointed that ISU introduced something that didn’t match their school colors. But, in a day and age where everyone has sweet new alternates and updates to their facilities, this is just what some teams have to do to keep up.
Plus, I would argue that these uniforms are some of the cleanest that we’ve seen yet, and with the new lineup, ISU has all the combinations they could every want to look good on Saturdays.
