Watch: Baylor Center Yves Missi Posterizes KJ Adams
All week, Baylor head coach Scott Drew discussed starting fast against Kansas. Freshman center Yves Missi took that to heart.
Missi recorded a thunderous dunk over Kansas forward KJ Adams on the game’s first play, which seemingly broke the sound barrier at Foster Pavilion.
Missi was met at the rim by Adams after rolling to the basket on a high ball screen with RayJ Dennis, and despite Adams being known as one of the highest-flying dunkers in the league, Missi threw it down with authority.
The freshman center has quickly risen to one of the nation’s best NBA Draft prospects, with scouts worldwide noticing Missi’s game. In his first season of college basketball, Missi is averaging 11 points and 5.6 rebounds per game on 64% shooting from the field.
Missi joined the Bears in the Class of 2023 after being listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index. He also checked in as the 37th-ranked player in the nation, the sixth-ranked center in the country, and the ninth-ranked player in California.
While dunks may not be enough to take down Bill Self’s streaky Kansas squad, Baylor took a 35-34 lead into halftime in hopes of earning their second Top-10 win of the 2023-24 season.
