TCU vs. Iowa State Upgraded to 7:00 p.m. on FS1
After initially being scheduled to be aired on FOX Sports 2, this weekend’s matchup between TCU (3-2, 1-1) and Iowa State (2-3, 1-1) has been upgraded to air on FOX Sports 1 with kickoff remaining at 7:00 p.m. CT.
The Horned Frogs and Cyclones are both coming off disappointing losses in Week 5 and will hope to turn things around this week.
TCU dropped a 24-21 contest against West Virginia after having two potential game-tying field goal attempts blocked late in the game. The Horned Frogs were double-digit favorites coming into the game and now have two losses on the year through just five games.
Meanwhile, Iowa State went into Norman last weekend as a three-touchdown underdog and ended up losing 50-20, giving up its most points in a single game since 2015. Despite the game being 21-20 early in the second quarter, the Sooners held Iowa State to just 82 yards in the second half and pulled away with the score being 40-20 at the half.
This week, TCU hits the road and goes to Ames, where its most recent game didn’t go so well. Behind 18 carries for 242 yards and three touchdowns from Breece Hall, Iowa State ran to a 48-14 victory over Max Duggan and the Horned Frogs.
However, last season the Frogs returned the favor with a 62-14 beatdown in Fort Worth, as Duggan went 17-24 for 212 yards and three scores, while TCU’s defense returned two interceptions for touchdowns.
This year, TCU enters the game as a 6.5-point favorite on the road with both teams fighting to get to 2-1 in Big 12 play.
