One of the top available players in the transfer portal has chosen his new destination, as former Arkansas transfer quarterback KJ Jefferson has committed to Gus Malzahn and the UCF Knights.

After spending nearly a month in the portal, Jefferson gives UCF an immediate boost to the Knights’ 2024 offense and further bolsters what looks to be already a packed house of Big 12 contenders next season.

A four-star prospect in the class of 2019, Jefferson has 39 career starts under his belt and has a 20-19 record despite playing in what many consider to be the toughest division in all of college football.

Over the last five seasons in Fayetteville, Jefferson has been one of the most prolific offensive players in not only the SEC but in the country, throwing for 7,923 yards and 67 touchdowns with just 18 interceptions.

He’s also been a major threat running the ball during his time with the Razorbacks, piling up 1,876 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground over the last five seasons.

UCF lands Jefferson’s services over programs such as Miami and TCU, giving them with a veteran quarterback immediately after the loss of John Rhys Plumlee.

With RJ Harvey already announcing his return for the 2024 season, and now KJ Jefferson on board, the UCF backfield appears to be one of, if not the best the Big 12 has to offer next season, and that’s a scary thought considering what the Knights have waiting in the wings on the rest of the roster.
