Kansas State Wildcats Women’s Basketball 2023-24 Roster Preview

The Kansas State Wildcats are preparing for the 2023-24 women’s basketball roster and below is a preview of every player on the roster entering November’s opening game.

Below are the returning players, the transfers and the freshmen that will play a role in Kansas State’s upcoming season.

Expected to Return

Ayoka Lee

The 6-foot-6 All-Big 12 center from two seasons ago will return after missing all of last season due to knee surgery. She was one of the most decorated players in the country in 2021-22 and her K-State bio requires a magnifying glass to read. She averaged 22 points and 10.3 rebounds as she earned All-America honors. If last season was about the rest of the Wildcats learning to play without Lee, this season could be about Lee learning to play with teammates that grew their games in her absence. It’s a nice problem to have.

Gabby Gregory

The 6-foot senior guard transferred into Kansas State from Oklahoma last season and is the Big 12’s leading returning scorer, as she averaged 18.5 points, along with 5.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists. She will return using her COVID waiver. She was All-Big 12 First Team, an Ann Meyers-Drysdale Award Top 10 selection and a Dawn Staley Award Late Season Watch List selection. She should be one of the best guards in the country. She now has nearly 1,500 points as a collegiate player. She scored 648 last season for Kansas State and 785 for her entire career at OU.

Serena Sundell

She’s been one of the most consistently productive performers in the Big 12 each of the last two seasons. She averaged 13.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.0 steals and was an All-Big 12 honorable mention selection. She’s a two-time All-Big 12 Honorable Mention and one of the conference’s best point guards. She already ranks 12th on the K-State career assists list (360).

Jaelyn Glenn

The 6-foot-1 junior guard made huge jumps last season. She averaged 11.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and a team-leading 2.5 steals. She was the only player in the nation with 70 or more 3-point field goals made and 90 or more steals last season. She was the only player in the Big 12 and one of five in the nation with 400 or more points, 175 or more rebounds and 90 or more steals last season.

Brylee Glenn

The 5-foot-11 junior guard averaged 8.3 points and 2.8 rebounds as she took on a larger role for the Wildcats as a sophomore. In fact, she achieved career season-highs in every statistical category. That included a career-best 51 assists. She built on the 2021-22 that saw her named All-Big 12 Freshman and earn a spot in the 2022 Red Bull USA Basketball 3X Nationals.

Rebekah Dallinger

The 5-foot-10 senior guard played in 25 games and made one start but averaged less than two points per game last season. She’ll look for more rotational time this season.

Heavenly Greer

The 6-foot-2 forward played in 30 games as a redshirt sophomore and averaged a little more than two points per game. She previously played at Oklahoma in 2020-21 and sat out the 2021-22 season due to transfer rules. So the redshirt junior is still working out her role on a team that is getting Ayoka Lee back.

Ja’Mia Harris

The 5-foot-11 redshirt freshman guard is part of a large ground of returning players that are looking for playing time. She played in one game last year and suffered a season-ending injury. She averaged 17 points and 5.0 rebounds per game for DeSoto (Texas) High her senior year, earning 2022 Texas 6A State Championship MVP as her team won the state title.

Mikayla Parks

The 5-foot-10 sophomore guard played in nine games last season. As a prep player she helped Norman (Okla.) High School win two state titles.

Eliza Maupin

The 6-foot-3 sophomore forward found a role off the bench last season, as she scored 4.1 points per game, partially helping to fill the void left by Lee’s absence. She averaged 12.3 minutes per game. She scored 10 or more points in six games.

Gisela Sanchez

The 6-foot-3 forward transferred to Kansas State from Arizona last season and did not play. Now a redshirt sophomore, she is eligible to hit the floor. With Arizona as a true freshman in 2021-22 she averaged 2.9 points. But she was a member of Spain’s 2023 FIBA U20 Women’s European Championship team and Spain’s 2022 FIBA U20 Women’s European Championship team.

Arrival Via Transfer

Imani Lester

The 6-foot-4 forward is a redshirt freshman who is transferring in from Louisville. She did not play a game for the Cardinals last season, but she scored more than 1,000 points in her high school career at North Raleigh Christian Academy in Raleigh, N.C.

Zyanna Walker

The 5-foot-8 guard is coming home. The Wichita, Kan., native played a season alongside Lester at Louisville. The former Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year. The sophomore played in just five games for the Cardinals, averaged 2.8 points per game.
