USC Guard Bronny James Inactive vs. Kansas State
While the world of college basketball eagerly waits for the start of the 2023-24 basketball season, one player that will have to wait a bit longer to take the floor is USC guard Bronny James.
USC head coach Andy Enfield mentioned that the Trojans will be without James in their opener against Kansas State when the two schools tip off in Las Vegas on Monday, November 6th.
James suffered cardiac arrest back in July during team workouts which put his status for the game in question.
While Enfield didn’t provide much background on James’ health, LeBron James updated members of the media about his son’s health saying, “Bronny is doing extremely well. He has begun his rehab process to get back on the floor this season with his teammates and USC.”
The James family thanked USC’s medical team for springing into action during the summer in a statement that reads, “Thanks to the swift and effective response by the USC athletics’ medical staff, Bronny James was successfully treated for a sudden cardiac arrest. He arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center fully conscious, neurologically intact, and stable. Mr. James was cared for promptly by highly-trained staff and has been discharged home, where he is resting.”
Despite the absence of James, the Trojans head to Las Vegas on Monday, November 6th to take on Jerome Tang and the Kansas State Wildcats as they get set to tip off the 2023-24 season on TNT.
