West Virginia cornerback Daryl Worley turned himself in to city police Wednesday to face a misdemeanor battery charge. The sophomore from Philadelphia is accused of putting his hands around a woman’s throat and pushing her to the ground during an incident at a downtown nightclub early Sunday.
A warrant for Worley’s arrest was issued earlier Wednesday and Worley was arraigned in Morgantown Magistrate Court in the afternoon and released on a $10,000 bond. He could have to wait until November for his next hearing, which puts the remainder of his season with the football team in question.
The Mountaineers suspended Worley indefinitely Monday night.
