WVU AD Wren Baker ‘Not Excited’ to Bathe in Mayo
While the list of individuals who are comfortable being covered in mayonnaise isn’t very long, the West Virginia coaching staff may find themselves included following the conclusion of the 2023 Duke’s Mayo Bowl.
West Virginia Athletic Director Wren Baker spoke on the possibility of taking a mayo bath in celebration of a bowl win and mentioned that he is not excited about the experience.
The winner of the Duke’s Mayo Bowl matchup between West Virginia and North Carolina has been talked about leading up to Wednesday’s contest where the winning coach will take a post-game bath in Duke’s Mayonnaise.
“Not at all excited about the mayonnaise bath,” Baker said. “And I’m not like Coach Brown, he really hates mayonnaise. When they were first doing their drive there were a few people that were tweeting at me and stuff wanting to know what it would take for me to have a mayonnaise bath so I literally threw a number out there that I didn’t think they could get to. I didn’t think we’d get to 1500, but we did so we’ll pay that bet up.”
Baker finished off his thoughts by saying, “I do think it’s exciting, I just probably underestimated how much West Virginia fans love the Mountaineers and how many West Virginians like to see fat balding guys covered in mayonnaise.”
The Duke’s Mayo Bowl between West Virginia and North Carolina officially kicks off on Wednesday, December 27th at 4:30 PM CT.
